So, you may have noticed that this Idoneth Deepkin Name Generator has taken two weeks to arrive, rather than one week as intended. What can I say - much like an Akhelian Allopex, real life has been snapping at my heels. You might say I’ve been ‘drowning’ in work.
There was another factor in my tardiness though, which is that for some reason this name generator was the most challenging I’ve put together so far. As Idoneth Deepkin are very new to the worlds of Warhammer, and as I didn’t know much about them beyond the surface level information that one can glean online, I needed to do a lot more research than for previous generators. Couple that with the fact that there are far fewer synonyms for ‘ocean’ than you might think, and this one was unfortunately a bit of a slog.
That said, it’s given me a whole new level of appreciation for both for the lore of the Deepkin themselves, and for the poor Games Workshop background writers who had to find several different ways of saying (at length) ‘watery aelves that die unless they kill people’ for the battletome.
I’m pleased with my efforts, but dear lord I hope you guys pick something easier for me in this week’s poll! This week we have an all-Chaos poll, in recognition of the fact that we don’t yet have any Chaos factionswith name generators - a terrible wrong that needs to be rectified lest we anger the Dark Gods.
